Who doesn’t love a hotel-quality towel, but we just can’t seem to get one for our homes, isn’t it? They are soft, fluffy, fresh-smelling and clean; in other words, they feel like pure bliss.

Well, *popping your bubble*, it isn’t a million-dollar-industrial-secret like we used to believe. We just need to know what we’re buying and how we’re using it before we fall for fancy colours, hefty price tags, and brand names.

Cotton terry towels are soft and fluffy, while microfiber towels are quick-drying. And if you get both these qualities in one, it’s like a match made in heaven! That’s where we come in!

Trends Alley provides you with quick-drying towels that have the softest feel and vibrant colours, so the most neglected area of your home has some aesthetics- and all this at reasonable prices. Yay!

So, you not only need to invest in the right collection, you need to invest in caring for it too because, well, you spent some good bucks on it. Sharing some general-easy-everyday rules below for you to follow. Thank us later!

  • One towel is NOT for everything! Keep separate towels for your face, hair, and body.
  • Have separate towels for your after-gym use and especially for your kids.
  • Do not share your face towel with anybody else- nobody wants an acne-pandemic.
  • Towels should be washed after three uses. But because hand/face towels are used more frequently, they should be washed more frequently too.
  • Similarly, bath-mats should be washed separately as they are prone to more and different bacteria.
  • You should also keep an eye on how you wash your towels- it should always be in lukewarm water as it kills the bacteria and prevents the fabric fibers from withering. Avoid using softener at all costs as it adheres to the fabric, reducing its absorbency.
  • Wash your towels before using them for the first time.
  • Wash differently coloured towels separately.
  • Choose a cotton towel for your little one because cotton is mild and protective.
  • Bleaching or using chlorine is not recommended by pediatricians to clean towel stains as it is harmful for a child’s skin. But babies make the most mess. So, to clean all the stains they gift us, use vinegar, baking soda, and lemon instead!
  • Make sure your towels are completely dried before you fold and store them.
  • Store the towels in a dry and mould-safe cabinet until you use them next time.
  • Try keeping your bathrooms dehumidified, so your towels don’t absorb moisture and smell funny.
  • Rotate your towels after each use and drying, so you use all clean sides.
  • Do not rub towels on your face. Pat dry all the moisture, so your skin’s barrier stays intact.
  • Do not rub towels on your hair too; this makes them dry and brittle. Folding your hair softly after wash, patting and squeezing gently, and then letting your hair air-dry is the main deal.
